In the past six months, we were happy to count Francesco Cisternino among us at Orsi InnoTech, our department for surgical artificial intelligence & innovation. He dedicated his internship to artificial intelligence applied to robot-assisted surgery.
Orsi Academy uses computer vision techniques to derive meaningful metrics from surgical videos, both in real operating theatres as well as at our centre in Ghent.
Francesco: "As a trainee at Orsi Academy, I had the chance to apply my knowledge from my master Artificial Intelligence Engineering at UNIMORE University to real-life issues. At the beginning it wasn't easy, but it gave me the chance to become more independent & to work in a team.
