Medtronic and Orsi Academy strengthen partnership to develop future training programmes to improve standards of robotic surgery using proficiency based progression
Medtronic, one of Orsi’s parenting medtech partners & one of the global leaders in medical technology, announced on Monday October 11 it has received CE (Conformité Européenne) Mark for the Hugo™ robotic-assisted surgery (RAS) system, authorizing the sale of the system in Europe.
Orsi Academy is glad to announce that in light of the CE Mark approval surgeons across the world can now participate in hands-on training using the Hugo™ RAS System at the Orsi Academy facilities. Surgeons and surgical staff can experience and train on one of the two systems available today at Orsi Academy.

Next to our long-standing partnership with Intuitive Surgical and robotic training on da Vinci surgical system, Orsi Academy is excited to include Hugo™ RAS System as a new member of the family, which is perfectly in line with Orsi's open and inclusive character.
Our CEO, Prof. Dr. Alex Mottrie, partnered with the Surgical Robotics division of Medtronic for several years throughout the development of the Hugo™ RAS System. Together, Medtronic & Orsi Academy developed the Hugo™ Ascend training pathway for the system, and Orsi Academy is proud to be one of the signature training partners for Medtronic.
